The Havana Film Festival is a Cuban festival that focuses on the promotion of Latin-American filmmakers. The 41st International Havana Film Festival begins in Cuba’s capital with the premiere of an Argentinian film, The Odyssey of the Jerks.
A total of 300 films from 37 countries, including Spain, France, Germany and England will be screened at the festival, which will run through Dec. 15 in the capital Havana, according to Cuban news agency Prensa Latina.
The prestigious festival will host a strong presence from Latin America, with 210 films, while Argentina and Brazil will stand out as the most represented countries in the region. This year, 21 fiction feature films, 18 high-end operas, 21 documentaries (feature films), 10 short and medium-length films, 23 animated films, 25 unreleased scripts and 30 posters will be in the running for the Coral Award.
