The interior ministry has issued Eid holidays notification announcing 10- to 15 May as off days across Pakistan on account of Eid-ul-Fitr.
As per to the notification released by the interior ministry, the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays are approved by the Prime Minister Imran Khan after consultations with all stakeholders and keeping in mind recommendations by National Command Operation Center (NCOC) in a bid to limit coronavirus spread.
The notification reads that the NCOC rolled out SOPs which has already been announced for the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
It must be noted that in order to stem the spread of COVID-19 the NCOC issued guidelines for Youm-e-Ali (RA), Aitekaf, Shab-e-Qadr, Jummatul Wida and Eid-ul-Fitr.
The NCOC said the citizens are asked to refrain from shaking hands and hugging during the Eid-ul-Fitr gatherings, as well as avoiding unnecessarily traveling and family events.
The NCOC also instructed to maintain a 1-meter distance during an outdoor event along with the family members on Eid-ul-Fitr.
The administrations of mosques have been directed to keep doors and windows opened during the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers and refrain from using water coolers.
