Despite the coronavirus pandemic, it seems like next year the Academy Awards will basically not be held.
Although due to the rise in coronavirus cases, most of the major award nights of the year moved to a virtual platform, the Academy to Variety announced that the biggest night in Hollywood will still be in-person.
“A rep from ABC and the Academy said to the outlet, “The in-person telecast of the Oscars will happen.
This comes after the ceremony was initially moved back by two months in the hopes of the Academy being able to see more films over the extended time that would qualify for the deadline.
The source disclosed to the publication that the event would not be further postponed and according to schedule, would still be held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
“The academy has recently done a Dolby walkthrough to see all the various options,” the insider further disclosed.
