In Afghanistan, Presidential election has been postponed for the second time by more than two months till 28th September this year.
A spokesman for the country’s Independent Election Commission said the country’s presidential election has been postponed to give the authorities more time to organize the ballot and fix the problems. The election had previously been scheduled for July 20.
President Ashraf Ghani, Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah and former national security adviser Mohammad Haneef Atmar are among the declared candidates for the presidential election. It is unclear how recurring peace talks between US officials and the Taliban may affect the election.
