Earthquake aftershocks are continued in different parts of country as 4.4 magnitude earthquake jolted Mirpur, Azad Kashmir. According to details, the quake struck Mirpur and adjacent areas along with Jhelum and Sheikhupura. People came out of their homes, offices, educational institutions and other buildings in panic.
The death toll from Tuesday’s earthquake in Azad Jammu and Kashmir rose to 37, with more than 500 injured. The epicentre of the 5.8-magnitude quake was near the Kashmiri city of Mirpur, roughly 20 kilometres (12 miles) north of Jhelum in agricultural Punjab province, according to the US Geological Survey.
Scores of houses, schools, mosques and other infrastructure were fully or partially damaged, a spokesperson for the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
