Amid the 2nd wave of novel coronavirus, The government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) decided to impose a complete lockdown across the region for a period of 2 weeks starting November 21.
The decision made during a meeting of the AJK cabinet that met with Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider in the chair.
The cabinet meeting was briefed that the COVID-19 situation in the AJK has worsened as coronavirus positivity rate has gone up to 19%.
There would be a complete lockdown in all Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) districts with a ban on weddings and other gatherings.
All schools and businesses will remain close during the lockdown.
Strict screening at the entry points of the AJK region would be ensured.
The number of employees in government offices will be cut in half as only 50% of them would be allowed to come to offices while the rest would work from home.
