On Sunday, President Sardar Masood Khan of Azad Jammu and Kashmir said that rehabilitation of people affected by the floods in the Neelum Valley was the government’s first priority, local media reported.
Speaking to the flood victims, Masood Khan said the government is committed to providing clean food and water as well as housing to the flood victims.
Masood said that Pakistan Army and all the state agencies timely rushed to the area and promptly provided relief to the people.
The President added that the State Disaster Management Authorities, the Provincial Disaster Management Authorities and the Pakistan Red Crescent Society were actively involved in relief and rescue operations in the region, while the district administration was responsible for assessing the losses and relief activities.
