National Accountability Bureau’s findings in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former provincial minister Aleem Khan’s case has reportedly revealed that Aleem Khan owns four apartments in an upscale London neighbourhood, sources said on Saturday (Feb 9).
“During investigation, NAB officials probed the former Punjab local government minister regarding his properties in London,” sources said. “Aleem was asked whether all four apartments are his and where he got the money from to purchase them,” sources said. “The PTI leader was asked whether he declared the offshore company in documents presented before institutions in Pakistan,” it is reported. “NAB officials asked the PTI leader whether he had sought permission from the State Bank of Pakistan before transferring money abroad.”
Aleem were taken into custody by NAB on Wednesday (Feb 6) in a case pertaining to assets beyond means and offshore company as he was unable to satisfy NAB regarding his source of income for his properties in Dubai and London. Following the arrest, Aleem has resigned from the post of senior Punjab minister, said a statement issued by NAB.
