Former Punjab Local Government Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Aleem Khan on Wednesday (June 26) has resigned from membership of four standing committees of Punjab Assembly.
As per details, Khan was included in the committees including privilege, human rights and minority affairs, Public Accounts Committee 2 (PAC) and special committee 6, during his National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrest.
Earlier, a two-member bench of the Lahore High Court led by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi had granted bail to Punjab Local Government Minister and senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Aleem Khan in assets beyond means and offshore companies case. The bail was granted against surety bonds of Rs10 million.
Aleem were taken into custody by NAB on February 6 in a case pertaining to assets beyond means and offshore company as he was unable to satisfy NAB regarding his source of income for his properties in Dubai and London. Following the arrest, Aleem had resigned from the post of senior Punjab minister.
