Various Amazon operations, including its online store and Amazon Web Services, were unavailable for several consumers in many regions late Sunday.
Over 280 users reported problems with Amazon Web Services, according to Downdetector. Around 37,00 customer reports suggested problems with Amazon’s online retail site, according to Downdetector.
The nature of the problem that was affecting the locations was unknown at the time.
Over 80% of the reported issues were with Downdetector’s website, 15% with its login, and 5% with its check-out, according to the company.
Downdetector keeps track of outages by aggregating information from a variety of sources, including user-submitted defects on its platform. The outage might have impacted a larger number of users.
Fastly, a cloud computing service provider based in the United States that provides a content delivery network (CDN) used by Amazon and other websites, caused a widespread outage on Amazon last month.
Many well-known websites were impacted, including Reddit, Twitter, Quora, GitHub, Spotify, and Twitch. On DownDetector, over 1,000 Reddit users and 600 Twitch users have complained that the websites they visit are not loading.
