On Monday, Amazon Web Services creating 500 jobs as Amazon opening a new office in Munich that will showcase what cloud computing can do for potential clients in Europe’s largest economy.
Amazon Web Services, which grew out of the technology that runs Amazon’s e-commerce platform, is gaining scale in Germany after addressing concerns about privacy that led many manufacturing firms to keep their servers on-site.
Amazon Web Services has received a cloud computing security certification from the German Cyber-security Authority, guaranteeing data security, even if they are hosted on remote servers located outside the country.
AWS sets up a Digital Builders showroom in its Munich office, in partnership with the Boston Consulting Group, which will provide hands-on application demonstration opportunities to potential customers.
And, in collaboration with Siemens, he sets up a showcase of industrial software to illustrate how cloud computing can support the automation of manufacturing.
The new jobs at AWS are part of the 2,800 jobs already announced in Germany by Amazon and will be disseminated in its operational and research units in Germany.
