US President Donald Trump’s recently claimed that American doctors lie about COVID-19 deaths to “get more money” has provoked anger and criticism, less than a week before America heads to the Presidential Election 2020.
The controversial remarks about American doctors battling the COVID-19 and taking it head-on came during the US president’s latest rally in Waterford Township, Michigan.
Donald Trump told an audience at the rally “Our doctors get more money if someone dies from coronavirus. You know that, right?”.
Trump then said that in Germany and other countries, when a person who dies from cancer or any other terminally ill disease, he is said to have died from that same disease.
But, Trump said that when it comes to doctors in the United States of America, they lie and say the patient died of the COVID-19 just to get more money.
Trump went to say that “So what they do is, they say, ‘I’m sorry, but, you know, everybody dies of coronavirus,’” adding that he said “But in Germany and other places, if you have a heart attack, or you have cancer, you’re terminally ill, you catch coronavirus, they say you died of cancer, you died of heart attack. With us, when in doubt, choose coronavirus.”
