Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s health has become an unresolved controversy as there is much difference in statements of government and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leaders. According to Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz, his father is repeatedly denying to hospitalization. After Pakistan Peoples Pary (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s sympathies, now PPP’s senior leader Khursheed Shah while speaking to media in Sukkur, has said if anything adverse happened to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, it would be considered a “murder” and the government would be responsible for it.
“[The] prime minister is [responsible] for the entire country, not just a political party. Imran Khan has not regarded himself as a prime minister yet. He’s still doing ‘container’ politics,” the PPP leader criticised. “Our politics is not of verbal abuses. We have seen many ups and downs, we have never talked about power, we have always talked about the public,” Shah said. On PM’s criticism of PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari delivering his speech in the Parliament in English language, Shah said, “Quaid-e-Azam used to deliver his speeches in English, yet the entire nation stood his every word.”
Nawaz Sharif was shifted to Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat prison on December 25, after a court in Islamabad sentenced the former prime minister to seven years in prison following Al-Azizia steel mills reference.
