Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday has directed to reimburse afectees, who suffered properties damage during protest against Supreme court’s verdict of Asia Bibi’s acquittal. He ordered to carried out assessment of the damaged properties and directed Punjab government to prepare a compensation package.
A day earlier, the Interior Ministry briefed PM Imran on the countrywide protests by Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) and said that about 1,800 rioters, involved in vandalism have been arrested, during crackdown against rioters.
Last week country-wide protests were erupted when, Supreme Court acquitted Asias Bibi, Christian women allegedly involved in blasphemy. An agreement was signed between government and TLP’s chief to end sit-in.
