The government of Balochistan has agreed to enforce a 15-day lockdown.
According to reports, the Balochistan Government’s Spokesperson, Liaquat Shahwani, spoke to the media on Saturday. The third wave of the coronavirus pandemic, he claims, is more harmful than the first and second waves.
He also mentioned that until May 1, all activities and festivities in Balochistan would be prohibited. He expressed concern that the third wave of coronations was not being taken seriously.
Shahwani further said that until May 1, Balochistan is under a smart lockdown.
In Pakistan, the death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 16,000 people.
National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), there have been 4,976 new Covid-19 cases recorded in the last 24 hours, with 112 patients dying.
The death toll has risen to 16,094 people, with 750,158 cases recorded so far.
Last 24 hours, 65,279 tests have been performed. In addition, 654,956 patients have recovered, while 4,149 remain in critical condition.
