The Bangladeshi one day captain Masharafe Murtaza decided to enter into parliamentary politics. He will contest election on the ticket of Prime Minister Hasina Wajid’s party Awami League from Narail constituency. The general elections will take place in December 2018.
Masharafe Murtaza is one of the most popular players in the country. He enjoys the status of a rock star in cricket crazy Bangladesh. Bangladeshi Prime Minister Hasina Wajid gives approval to his candidature. A spokesman of Awami League told media that Prime Minister had already given Masharafe green light to contest the elections on 30 December.
Narail is his hometown in Western Bangladesh. Masharafe has already planned to retire from international cricket after 2019 world cup. He has already retired from T20 and test cricket.
