The State Bank of Pakistan has announced banking hours for all banks, development finance institutions and microfinance banks during Ramazan.
As per to a notification issued by the state bank of Pakistan, from Monday to Thursday office timings will be from 10:00am to 4:00 pm with a prayer break from 2pm to 2:15pm whereas on Fridays banks will remain open from 10:00am to 1:00pm without any break.
The cemtral bank suggested that banks may observe the following banking hours for public dealings:
It must be be noted that State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said in a statement that all banks ahead of holy month of Ramazan it shall remain closed for public dealing on 1st of Ramazan (April 14), 1442 A.H.
As per to details, The first day of the holy month of Ramzazan shall be observed as “Bank Holiday” for the purpose of deduction of Zakat.
The SBP’s circular reads that “All banks / DFIs [Development Finance Institutions]/ MFBs [Micro Finance Banks] shall, therefore, remain closed for public dealing on 1st Ramazan-ul-Mubarak, 1442 A.H.”
However, all employees of the banks, DFIs and MFBs will attend to their official assignments, which may be in-office or work-from-home, as designated under the current coronavirus situation.
The central bank further added that, For the staffers, the bank holiday shall be treated as a normal working day, except no public dealing.
