The three member Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar provided big relief to PPP leadership as it ordered that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah’s names be removed from the joint investigation team (JIT) report and the Exit Control List (ECL). The SC bench issued this order in the hearing of fake accounts and money laundering case.
The Chief Justice asked the council of JIT to explain the reason that why Bilawal Bhutto’s name was included in the JIT? “Bilawal Bhutto and the Sindh chief minister have only been included for political scoring. How does being a director prove that Bilawal is part of a scandal?” the chief justice questioned.
His father and paternal aunt were running the businesses. In this moment, Bilawal is clean and innocent. Why has his name been included? Bilawal is taking forward his mother’s political inheritance,” he said.
The JIT counsel then said, “We can delete Bilawal’s name from the report.” The chief justice then ordered that “all parts of the JIT report which mention Bilawal’s name be deleted”.
This is a big relief for PPP leadership as Bilawal Bhutto’s name removed from JIT report. It means that no further investigation will take place and thus no reference will be filed against Bilawal Bhutto. Now Bilawal can continue his political career without any stains of corruption and wrong doing.
This decision of SC will end the speculations about the political future of Bilawal Bhutto and its possible fall out on the party.
