Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), has informed his party workers that he is on a private visit to the United States and will return in September.
The PPP leader landed in New York on Sunday afternoon, according to sources, and met with his party workers at John F. Kennedy Airport.
He had previously travelled to an unidentified location, most likely Wyoming, for a conference.
Murad Ali Shah, the Chief Minister of Sindh, is already in the United States, sparking suspicion over the presence of two senior PPP leaders in the US as the Biden administration reconsiders its South Asian strategy.
The US is concerned about the future of the Afghan government following the withdrawal of its forces, and wants to help manage a power-sharing agreement between Pakistan, Kabul, and the Taliban.
Pakistan has volunteered to help, but has stated that it has not been asked for bases by the US military and is not willing to provide them.
Both friends and opponents of the PPP are tying the visit to US concerns about Afghanistan, and the PPP’s claim that it is a private visit is being questioned.
A statement from Shahbaz Gill, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant, fueled rumours that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari wants to make a deal with the US.
Bilawal wants to gain power by flattering the US: Khurrum Sher Zaman
While commenting on Bilawal Bhutto’s forthcoming visit to the United States, President PTI Karachi Khurrum Sher Zaman claimed that the PPP Chairman is dreaming of winning power by flattery.
He stated in his statement that Bilawal Zardari will give his CV to US President Barack Obama based on his incompetence, and that Bilawal has become a menace to national security and diplomacy.
The PTI government, according to Khurrum Sher Zaman, will fulfil its term.
Note that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), is in the United States on a private visit.
“You may pretend it’s a private or educational visit,” a top PPP official suggested, according to the newspaper.
In a statement, PPP Information Secretary and National Assembly Member Shazia Murree said the government was “disturbed” by the PPP chairman’s visit to the United States.
Shazia Murree stated that the puppet ruler is concerned about Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s visit to the United States, and that spokespersons such as Fawad Chaudhry, Shahbaz Gill, and Farrukh Habib are concerned that their leader Imran Khan will not be able to travel to the United States without diplomatic immunity because pending cases in US courts await him.
