Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has announced not to attend Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) Maulana Fazal Ur Rehman sit-in going to be held next month in Islamabad adding that his party never been part of any sit-in politics.
For condolence on the death of his party MPA Malik Asad Sikander’s mother the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reached Thana Bola Khan wherein talking to media he said that the JUI-F chief himself took a decision of holding a sit-in and we will support his morally.
“This was the initiative of Maulana Fazl, he took the initiative but it has been our party’s consistent policy that we do not participate in sit-ins,” Bilawal explained. “We definitely support the issues that he’s raising and he will have our moral and political support,” he added.
Bilawal further noted that regardless of whether Fazl was in Islamabad or touring the whole country, the stance of his party and the JUI-F would be the same. “The PPP has a clear and consistent policy regarding the dharna politics in Islamabad. We were in the opposition during sit-ins of Tahirul Qadri, Imran Khan or Tehreek-e-Labbaik and decided against participating in any of them.”
Rehman, head of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), will lead a long march to Islamabad in October for a sit-in against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, seeking its early ouster from the power.
However, two main parties of the joint opposition – PPP and PML-N – have decided to adopt a calm political strategy for the time being.
