Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that resumption of British Airways flights to Pakistan is an expression of trust in “Naya Pakistan” and its government.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on the resumption of the British Airways flight operations in Pakistan, she said launch of these flights is a proof that the world accepts the truthful narrative of peaceful Pakistan led by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
She said the British High Commissioner to Pakistan Thomas Drew and SAPM on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari played an important role in resuming British Airways flights to Pakistan. Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan expressed hope that the British High Commissioner will also play his role in bringing English Cricket team to Pakistan for a cricket series.
Earlier British Airways resumed its flight operation to Pakistan after a decade-long gap. First flight of British Airways (BA- 261) was arrived at Islamabad International Airport on June 3 at 9:25 A.M from Heathrow, London where 240 passengers will arrive by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner with Pakistani and British flags in their hands.
