After supreme court’s order for immediate removal of Pakistan Peoples’ Party Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah’s names from exit control list the federal cabinet on Thursday (Jan 17) approved the removal of Bilawal and Shah’s names from ECL. Law Minister Barrister Faroogh Naseem explained the cabinet that its constitutional responsibility of the government to follow the Supreme Court’s verdict.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday (Jan 16) in a detailed judgment, authored by Justice Ijazul Ahsan ordered for immediate removal of names of Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto and Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah from Exit Control List (ECL) and directed to transferred the JIT report and all the material collected by the team to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) immediately.
The Federal Investigation Agency is investigating almost 32 people including PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur, in connection with mega money laundering through fake bank accounts. Zardari’s close aide Hussain Lawai was arrested in July in connection with the probe.
