A Cameroonian military court on Tuesday handed down a life sentence against the leader of the country’s separatist movement, Julius Sisiku Ayuk Tabe, and nine of his supporters, lawyers said.
The ten people have been convicted of “terrorism and secession,” state attorney Martin Luther Achet said.
Ayuk Tabe was the first self-proclaimed president of “Ambazonia”, a separatist state declared in October 2017 in two English-speaking regions of the Central African country.
