Police officials said, at least nine people included ‘Imam’ were injured in a blast that took place inside a mosque at Taj Road, Injured were shifted to nearby hospital. All wounded are out of danger and most have sustained burn injuries, the Chaman, medical superintendent said.
Law enforcement agencies reached the site soon after the blast and initiated investigation to collect evidence. Police said explosives were hidden inside a cupboard in the mosque, and went off when Magrib prayers were being held.
Chief Minister Balochistan, Awami National Party chief Asfandyar Wali and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Hamza Shehbaz condemned the attack.
Another incident occurred when two persons riding in a car were killed in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast on the roadside in Nawagayee Town’s Charmung area, Bajaur agency, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Wednesday. The incident took place with a remote control bomb detonating on a vehicle. The victims have been identified as Amanullah and Gul Badin. Authorities have cordoned off the area and investigation to the matter is underway.
