Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s petition seeking exemption from appearing before the court in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case accepted by accountability court on medical grounds.
Lawyer of the depose premier Amjad Pervaiz said while talking to media at accountability court premises that Nawaz Sharif’s new medical certificate had been submitted to the court.
“Nawaz Sharif’s condition has not stabilized yet and he is still undergoing the medical process. He will appear before the court following the improvement in his health,” counsel tells the court.
“Nawaz Sharif is under clinical supervision, He will undergo a medical examination which is scheduled to take place in the last week of February.” The council said while stating the medical certificate provided by his consultant in London Dr. Laweance.
After seeing the medical certificate, the honorable accountability court judge exempted the former premier from appearing before the court. “Nawaz Sharif will face trial when he recovers,” the lawyer said.
Earlier, the board, which had been formed to assess the health of the supreme leader of the PML-N, returned medical reports of the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif with the objection, saying it could not do its job using the medical reports sent by the Sharif family from London, as they were “incomplete and insufficient”.
