Beijing on Friday strongly condemned a foiled terror attack on its Chinese Consulate in Karachi.
Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Geng Shuang during a regular press briefing today said “China strongly condemns any violent attacks against diplomatic agencies and requests that Pakistan takes practical measures to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens and institutions in the country,” Geng said.
On the other hand Indian Foreign Ministry condemns the attack and said “The perpetrators of this heinous attack should be brought to justice expeditiously.”
The two police officials were martyred in an exchange of fire outside the Chinese Consulate General in Karachi’s Clifton Block 4 on Friday morning. According to details, three armed attackers tried to enter the Chinese Consulate in Karachi. The police guards posted outside the Chinese consulate stopped them from entering the Consulate. Both police guards successfully repelled the attack and embraced martyrdom. Their sacrifice averted a possible loss of life. No one inside the Consulate gets injured.
Karachi Police Chief, Dr Amir Sheikh told media that three attackers managed to enter the premises of the Consulate but could not enter the compound. All three of them were killed during operation by the law enforcement agencies.
“Terrorists attempted to enter Chinese consulate. Rangers and police have got control. Three terrorists killed. All Chinese safe. Situation under control”, ISPR said in an statement.
