Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi highlighted the resolution of the long-running Kashmir dispute between India and Pakistan, two nuclear countries, in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions and the bilateral dialogue process.
In his speech to the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Wang Yi also warned against any unilateral action to change the status of the disputed Himalayan valley.
“China, as a neighbor of Kashmir region, wants effective resolution of the matter and improving ties between neighboring countries i.e. India and Pakistan,” he added.
On the other hand, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Muhammad also called for the issue of Kashmir to be resolved in his address to the UNGA.
