Singer Chris Brown has been charged with owning to purchase of a restricted capuchin monkey without a permit for his daughter Royalty last Christmas. The Los Angeles City Attorney charged him with two criminal counts, carrying a maximum sentence of six months in prison.
The capuchin monkey, which was named Fiji, was flagged by authorities who seen a video that Brown posted on Instagram to his 44 million followers showing the artist’s three-year-old daughter, Royalty, cuddling with the pet. However Chris Brown has denied the allegation and said that he does not owned the exotic monkey.
Earlier in 2009, he was sentenced to five years probation and 180 days of community labour after pleading guilty to felony assault for beating former girlfriend-singer Rihanna.
