Gayle hit the ball for six off Moin Ali to smash Afridi’s record of 476 sixes. Chris Gayle´s 24th one-day international century anchored the West Indies to a formidable total of 360 for eight batting first against England in the day/night first fixture of a five-match series at Kensington Oval in Barbados on Wednesday.
Gayle has set numerous records across all three formats of cricket. He is widely acknowledged as one of the most destructive batsman in the history of the game, particularly in Twenty20. He is well known for hitting sixes; in 2012 he became the first player to hit a six off the first ball of a Test match.
