On Friday, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Gulzar Ahmed took first suo motu notice over ‘insufficient facilities’ in the country to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.
CJP Gulzar Ahmed will chair a five-member bench and commence hearing into the matter on April 13.
CJP Gulzar also sent notices to the Attorney General, the Secretary of Health and the Secretary of the Interior. In addition, the Chief Justice also called all the chief secretaries and general counsel from the four provinces.
He also asked the three respondents to provide details of facilities in medical institutions and hospitals regarding coronavirus.
