Dr. Mutlaq Bin Majed Al-Qahtani, Qatar’s Special Representative for Counter-Terrorism and Conflict Resolution, talks with General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), at General Headquarters (GHQ).
The conference discussed areas of common interest, regional sanctuary situations, including current updates on the Afghan situation, easing of the settlement procedure in Afghanistan, and coordination in a variety of fields, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Qatar’s contributions and highly beneficial role in aiding and promoting the Afghan peace process were also praised by COAS Bajwa.
The army hoped for continued cooperation in order to maintain provincial peace and stability in the region.
The visiting dignitary also praised Pakistan’s consistent efforts for regional peace and stability, promising to continue working to strengthen ties between the two countries.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations, COAS also met with Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong to address joint awareness, local sanctuary state, bilateral collaboration on a variety of issues, and an update on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) (ISPR).
The COAS praised the envoy for China’s unwavering support for Pakistan during the coronavirus pandemic’s difficult times.
The Chinese envoy praised Pakistan’s assertive leadership in the area and pledged to play a role in furthering political relations between the two countries.
Furthermore, Pakistan has long valued China’s assistance in several areas, particularly during the pandemic.
