As the country continues to lurch under the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, The highest positivity ratio of coronavirus cases in the current season 8.16% was recorded in Pakistan today.
A meeting of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) mulled over the coronavirus situation and implementation of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in the country.
The NCOC meeting attended by concerned federal and provincial officials, was informed that 2469 patients of the COVID-19 were in critical condition.
The meeting was apprised that Sindh has 14.1% positivity rate, while the ratio of positive cases in Azad Kashmir has been 11.9%.
Positive cases of COVID-19 in Balochistan reached to 12.5%, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 5.6%, Punjab 4.2%, federal capital city Islamabad 6.6% and Gilgit-Baltistan 4.7.
The meeting of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) was informed in a briefing that the Karachi has emerged as the city with highest ratio of COVID-19 positive cases with a positivity rate of 20.12%.
The meeting of NCOC was apprised that the highest test positivity rate in the country was recorded in Karachi 20.12%, followed by Hyderabad at 18.43%, Abbottabad at 14.53%, Muzaffarabad at 11.48%, Mirpur at 10.57%, Peshawar at 9.17% and Quetta at 09.91%.
The session was briefed that in cities, Lahore have 5.69% positivity, Rawalpindi 4.95 and Faisalabad 6.8%, In Islamabad has been 6.61% and Gilgit 4.76.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) briefing, Pakistan have overall 301 coronavirus patients on ventilators, In Lahore 80 patients and Multan 40 COVID-19 patents have been on vents, while in Rawalpindi 41 and Islamabad 40 coronavirus patients admitted at hospitals with ventilators. Karachi have 75 patients on ventilators.
