An Accountability Court of Islamabad on August 1 extended physical remand of former Prime Minister and senior PML-N stalwart Shahid Khaqan Abbasi till August 15.
The graft-busting body had produced Khaqan Abbasi before Judge Mohammad Bashir after politician’s 13-day remand ended today. Approving request of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the court extended remand of Mr Abbasi.
Abbasi was arrested in connection with LNG import contract and LNG terminal. The NAB arrested him when he reached at Lahore Toll Plaza Thokar Niaz Baig after showing him arrest warrant. He was coming to Lahore to attend the press conference of PML-N leader Shahbaz Sharif. Shahid Khan Abbasi is facing the accusation of handing over a tender worth Rs220 billion to a company in which he was a shareholder himself. His name was already in the Exit Control List (ECL).
