Accountability Court of Islamabad on Tuesday (July 2) granted National Accountability Bureau (NAB) 13-day physical remand of former President Asif Ali Zardari in Park Lane.
Former President Asif Ali Zardari was arrested on Monday (July 1) in Park Lane case. Former president Zardari was accused of purchasing 2,460 Kanal land in Islamabad through the park lane company in March 2009. Asif Zardari has more than 25% of shares in Park Lane Company, reports said.
Zardari Reacts On Rana Sanaullah’s Arrest
Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) co-chairman Zardari during his court’s appearance, condemned the arrest of former Law Minister Rana Sanaullah and said Sanaullah has been accused of smuggling drugs and its punishment is death sentence. Hinting at the involvement of government into the arrest of former Law Minister, Asif Zardari claimed that PTI-led federal government has failed to run the affairs of state and all it is doing is imposing massive taxes.
When asked about his live interview to a private news channel taken off-air, Zardari responded: “This is how weak people operate”.
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) Punjab President and member National Assembly Rana Sanaullah Khan on July 1, was arrested by the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) on drug possession charges. Rana Sanaullah was arrested from the Lahore-Islamabad motorway near the Sukheki area as he made his way towards Lahore to attend a political meeting.
