Accountability Court of Islamabad allowing ex-premier Shahid Khaqan Abbassi conditionally to participate in a funeral prayers of his uncle has ordered Director General (DG) National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to take necessary measure for his release on a parole.
The AC Islamabad heard the petition filed by sister of Shahid Khaqan Abbassi, Sadia Abbassi, for his release on the parole to participate in his uncle funeral prayers.
The petition prayed to the court that today in evening funeral prayers of Shahid Khaqan Abbassi is going to be held if court allowed his relaese on a parole then the family could delay the funeral prayers while opposing the petition the Nab prosecutor said that the matter did’nt relate to the court ambit as the former premier is in the NAB custody and the anti-corruption body can deal the matter.
On which, Sadia Abbassi said that when she visited the NAB office in morning they responded that the court can decide the matter while Judge Muhammad Bashir said that we summon investigative officer of the case to know what he has to say on the issue.
Later after hearing both sides of arguments the court announced the verdict and allowed Shahid Khaqan Abbassi conditionally to participate in his uncle funeral prayers.
