President Dr Arif Alvi will confer 127 civil awards on citizens of Pakistan including crickets, actors, politicians, martyrs, singers as well as foreign nationals on March 23 for showing excellence in their respective fields.
The awards include one Nishan-i-Imtiaz, three Hilal-Pakistan, eight Hilal-i-Imtiaz, three Hilal-i-Quaid-i-Azam, four Sitara-i-Pakistan, four Sitara-i-Shujaat, thirty-four Sitara-i-Imtiaz, twenty-eight President’s award of Pride of Performance, one Sitara-i-Quaid-i-Azam, one Tamgha-i-Pakistan, Twenty-three Tamgha-i-Shujaat and seventeen Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.
As per press release issued by government, the ‘Nishan-i-Imtiaz’ would be awarded to Shoaib Sultan Khan in the field of public service. In the field of games, Yasir Shah, and in acting Babara Sharif, Shabbir Jan, Iftikhar Ahmed Thakur, and Reema Khan will be given pride of performance awards. Meanwhile Tamgha-e-Imtiaz would be given to Mehwish Hayat and Sardar Ali Takkur in music. Atta-ullah- Esa Khaelvi and Sajjad Ali will be given Sajjad Ali.
As many as eight personalities Zaheer Ayub Baig (Punjab), Ghulam Asghar (Islamabad), Prof Dr Tasawar Hayat (Punjab), Wasim Akram (Punjab), Waqar Younis (Punjab), Prof Dr Recep Akdag (Turkey), Dr Michael Jansen (Germany) and Prof Abdul Bari Khan (Sindh) would be decorated with ‘Hilal-i-Imtiaz’ award.
’The Sitara-i-Shuja’at award would go to Muhammad Idrees Shaheed, Shaheed Nawabzada Mir Siraj Raisani (Balochistan), Asad Ali (Sindh ) and Shaheed Mairaj Ahmed Umrani (Balochistan).
