Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
Maleficent’s sequel Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, was released on 18th October. Maleficent is loosely adapted from The Sleeping Beauty. Angelina Jolie starred as Maleficent. The movie stood out to the audience because it was a new take on the tale of Sleeping Beauty, it was from the point of view of the evil fairy.
Cinderella
Cinderella (animated version) has three movies in total; Cinderella, Cinderella II: Dreams Come True, Cinderella III: A Twist in Time. The Live-action is based on the very first movie Cinderella made in 1950. The movie featured Lily James as Cinderella. The news has been circulating of the live-action remake starring Camilla Cabello as Cinderella.
Beauty and the Beast
Beauty and the Beast is based on the animated film. Emma Watson was the first choice for the role of Belle. Emma Watson had refused to wear a corset during filming as it promoted the wrong idea of female beauty, so the costume designer had to get creative which resulted in an amazing yellow ball gown. A few scenes were modified to suit the new era and make it right. The theme song ‘Beauty and the Beast is sung by Ariana Grande.
Aladdin
Aladdin is the remake of the 1992 animated film of the same name. Tara Sutaria was considered for the role of Jasmine. But Naomi Scott was finalized. Aladdin was also released in a 4D format in theatres, which made watching the movie a whole lot interesting as the seats moved when Aladdin ran or when there a scene with the magic carpet, made things much more fun.
The Jungle Book
The Jungle Book is a 2016 American fantasy adventure film. It is based on the Disney 1967’s animated classic with the same name. Neel Sethi played the role of Mowgli. The young actor went parkour training in preparation for the role. Other characters were voiced by renowned actors such as Bill Murray voiced Baloo, Ben Kingsley voiced Bagheera and Scarlett Johansson voiced Kaa. Nearly 70 separate species of animals native to India are featured in the film. The production of the movie started in 2013.
