The divided Kashmiri families organized a protest demonstration in Islamabad against the continuous curfew and communication blackout since 5th August, when Indian Authorities revoke the special status of Kashmiris. The demonstration held at D-Chowk and was attended by thousands of Kashmiris including women and children.
The demonstration was also aimed at drawing the world attention towards the ongoing siege and humanitarian crisis in occupied Kashmir. The protesters carried flags of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir as well as placards and banners with slogans denouncing Indian brutalities in occupied Kashmir. They also chanted slogans against India and in favour of freedom of Jammu and Kashmir from Indian occupation.
The Kashmir valley remains under severe military siege for 32nd consecutive day, today, as hundreds of thousands of Indian troops continue to enforce strict curfew and other restrictions to prevent people from staging anti-India demonstrations. All internet and communication services and TV channels are closed in the Kashmir valley and Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, Ramban and Rajouri areas of Jammu region since 5th of August.
