Former President Asif Zardari’s sister Faryal Talpur is seems to be in double trouble as Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Monday (June 24) has approached the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for her disqualification as member of the Sindh Assembly.
As per details, PTI MPAs Haleem Adil Sheikh, Arsalan Taj, and Rabia Azfar, in their submitted petition to the Provincial Election Commission Sindh, argued that the Article 62 (f) of the Constitution stipulated that a person could not be elected to the provincial assembly unless he or she was sagacious, righteous, non-profligate and honest.
The PTI legislators also argued that PPP MPA did not declare her three properties at the time of filing of her nomination papers, which included two lands in Deh Shadadkot in Qambar-Shahdadkot district and another piece of land in Deh Shadiagham in Larkana district.
While speaking to media, Haleem Adil Sheikh said the PPP has become a party of thieves and looters. He said PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari used to be seen as an innocent man, but he is not like other party leaders.
Talpur was arrested on June 14 in a case pertaining to mega money laundering of billions of rupees through fake bank accounts. At the previous hearing on June 15, the court had remanded Talpur in the NAB custody on 9-day physical remand until June 24.
