In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops during continued cordon and search operations arrested a dozen youth while the authorities booked a political activist under black law Public Safety Act in the territory.
Indian troops during cordon and search operations arrested the youth in Shopian, Ramban, Kishtwar and Samba districts. The authorities a few days ago also arrested noted human rights activist, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, and a leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Muhammad Yasin Attai.
On the other hand, the authorities have booked a member of National Conference, Muhammad Maqbool Yatoo, under draconian law Public Safety Act and lodged him at Srinagar Central Jail.
Meanwhile, tension flared up in north Kashmir when a vehicle of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) was torched by angry people on Thursday evening after it hit a private car causing injuries to three persons including a policeman and two women. The police said the accident took place between Buchoo and Haigam along Srinagar-Baramulla highway.
