Now a days students work hard in the 2 years of FSC to get admission in MBBS but as we all know that the competition out there is very tough there are very limited seats available and against those limited seats we have seventy to eighty thousand students.
And many of them fail to get admission in MBBS even some of them try twice or thrice and according to me it’s only wastage of time and money.
So I would suggest those students that if they really want to become a Dr. they should move towards physical therapy that is the new emerging field in Pakistan.
First of all let me clear this thing that mostly people think that Physiotherapist is not a certified doctor so in the recent year UHS had recognized Physiotherapists as Doctors and a lot of progress is done in this field.
In this field we treat diseases by using physical methods like exercises chiropractic techniques are also the part of DPT course and many spinal deformities like Disc slip are treated in this field without operation and it is even more effective than surgery.
In Pakistan Almost all medical universities started this program along with King Edward also offering DPT degree.
Now come to the scope as we all know that now a days fields are chosen on the behalf of income so as far as DPT is concerned you can be attached to International Cricket teams and obviously they will pay you a handsome salary, you can get a government job at 17th scale, you can run your own clinic, seats are available for you in the rehabilitation centers.
A very dominant area of DPT is Neurophysiotherapy in which you could treat very common diseases like Migraine, the patients of paralysis, epileptic patients etc . So in short it is a very vast field and demand of physiotherapists is more in foreign countries than in Pakistan so you also have scholarships to do your specialization abroad.

Excellent field and scope .
OD or dpt what should i choose? i secured 78% in fsc
Basically OD can work as an assistant with an Eye specialist doctor but after doing DPT you can work as a Doctor not as an assistant of any Dr and I think that it is better to be a Doctor rather than an assistant.
Vary much thankful…For the nice intro of this field , it is really required but more imp is to creat seats for the new graduate which is very much imp for thier further motivation … thanks DrAqeela Indus Hospital
Well as for as your percentage is concerned you can get admission in DPT in a private institute or on Self base in any Govt institute because last time the closing merit of DPT in GCUF 87.59%
DPT is really an emerging field, one of the best way to get cure without medication. Demand of physiotherapist increasing day by day.
