England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is in talks with the International Cricket Council (ICC) and wants allowing COVID-19 player substitutions in its upcoming planned Test series against West Indies and Pakistan.
While talking to British media Steve Elworthy ECB director of events said that as the ECB plans to holds test matches in bio-secure venues, he is hoping that an agreement would be reached in time for those Tests.
Elworthy said that, “I know there are still some considerations from an ICC perspective about a coronavirus replacement. That still needs to be agreed,”
He further added that “This is specifically for test cricket, and we would hope that would be in place well before the Test series starts in July,”
