Inter-Services Intelligence Former chief retired Lt Gen Asad Durrani has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking disdain proceedings aligned with the interior secretary for failing to comply with a Feb 27 court instruction.
In his appeal, the former spy-master said that the Interior Ministry, despite the fact those three months had passed, had not yet decided his representation to reconsider its decision to ban travel.
The Military Intelligence (MI) had written to the interior ministry last year to put Gen Durrani on the Exit Control List (ECL) for co-authoring a book, The Spy Chronicles, with Amarjit Singh Dulat, a former chief of the Indian spy agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).
On February 28, Judge Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of the IHC ordered the federal government to decide on his pending representation before the interior ministry to reconsider the decision to place him on the ECL.
