The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday (May 27) accepted the petition, against PML-N’s newly appointed Vice President, Maryam Nawaz for her controversial party position. A three-member bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Raza Khan issued notice to Maryam and then adjourned the hearing till June 17.
The petition was submitted by PTI leaders Farrukh Habib, Maleeka Bokhari, Kanwal Suazab and Javeria Zafar. It states that Maryam Nawaz’s appointment as PML-N vice president is in contradiction with the constitution and law of the land. The petition further states that Maryam Nawaz is ineligible to hold any political or public office.

PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif had recently announced Names of central office bearers of the party, including Maryam Nawaz Sharif as its Vice President.
