In the lone T-20 match at Cardiff, England beat Pakistan by seven wickets on Sunday (May 5). Batting first Pakistan scored 173 for the loss of six wickets in stipulated 20 overs.
For Pakistan, Babar Azam who made 65 while Haris Sohail with 50 runs were the main scorers. In reply, England achieved the target in 19.2 overs for the loss of three wickets. Englands’ Eoin Morgan with 57 and Joe Root with 47 runs were the main scorers. Eoin Morgan of England was declared man of the match.
Archer picked up 2-29 and effected a direct-hit run-out, removing both Babar Azam (65) and Haris Sohail (50), the mainstays of Pakistan’s 173-6. A potentially tricky target was reached with four balls to spare thanks to Eoin Morgan’s 57 not out from only 29 balls. The captain sealed victory with a six from the second ball of the final over.
