The European Parliament on Monday expressing concern over the deteriorating situation of human rights in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) called upon the immediate lifting of curfew and restriction on the people of the valley.
Despite Indian attempt to stop European Parliament session, the meeting held and the committee on foreign affairs briefed the meeting over the Kashmir’s current situation. “Members of the European Parliament have expressed concerns over the imposition of curfew for a month and demanded Indian government immediately lift the curfew and pave the way people of Kashmir to take a sigh in a free environment.
Earlier, Indian foreign minister Jaishankar was present in the Brussels and made attempts time and again to halt European Parliament session but after four hours struggle, he failed to convince them. Members of the European Parliament demanded that India start a dialogue with Pakistan right away and Modi immediately lift the curfew in Kashmir.
The members further said the European Union (EU) and the European Parliament should issue a reactionary statement on the situation in occupied Kashmir as soon as possible.
