President European Parliament Fabio Massimo Castaldo while addressing a joint press conference with Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar in Lahore, criticized human rights violations in occupied Kashmir and said that European Parliament is ready to mediate between Pakistan and India if both the countries agreed to the proposal.
Talking about anarchy in India after introduction of controversial Indian Citizenship Amendment Act, Fabio Massimo said the European parliament rejects it as it believes in the protection of religious, cultural, dignity and values of people.
He said it was never too late to forge peace, adding if Germany and France could become friends after decades of wars and battles, why Pakistan and India can’t be friends. Fabio Massimo Castaldo is on a two-day visit to Pakistan on the special invitation of Govenror Punjab Chaudhry Mohamamd Sarwar.
Tensions between Pakistan and India are running high since August 5, when Narendra Modi led BJP government revoked the article 370 and 35A of Indian constitution, which grant6ed the special status to Kashmir. Since then, Kashmir are suffering from humanitarian crisis, including, curfew, communication blackout and other freedoms as Indian troops has been deployed in every corner of the Indian Occupied Kashmir.
