Adviser of ex-premier Irfan Siddique has been released on bail from Adiyala jail as he was arrested on Friday’s night the violation of the tenancy agreement.
Earlier, A local court of Islamabad on Sunday (July 28) approved the bail plea of Irfan Siddique, Special Adviser as well as a close aide of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. Magistrate of the court Mehreen Baloch has approved his bail on surety bonds of Rs 20000. Police on late Friday night had apprehended Irfan Siddiqui in Islamabad for allegedly violating tenancy law.
Asad Qaiser Takes Notice of Hand Cuffing of Irfan Siddique
Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has taken strong notice of the arrest and hand cuffing of Irfan Siddique, a renowned columnist and educationist.
In this regard, the Speaker has summoned the Inspector General, Islamabad Police to Parliament House along with report on the matter. Earlier, the Speaker made a telephonically contact with Minister for Interior and expressed his concern on the said arrest.
Expressing his concern, the Speaker said that arrest and hand cuffing of Mr. Irfan Siddiqui on mere alleged violation of Tenancy law warrants thorough probe.
Speaker Asad Qaiser said that Mr. Irfan siddique is a seasoned columnist and a renowned educationist whose arrest has raised concerns in the journalistic community and Academia. He said that present government believes in freedom of expression and upholds independence of media.
