From today in Australia, Instagram and Facebook are hiding a number of likes from its users, the trail is starting from today.
Some Facebook users will no longer see the number of likes, reactions, and views of videos posted on other publications on a social networking site designed to improve the well-being of users.
Instead, likes will be private and only visible to the post’s author in a change that follows a similar test on Instagram which started in July in Australia.
According to Facebook Australia’s director of policy, Mia Garlick said that they are hoping people would be more comfortable sharing posts on social media after this move.
However, she assured businesses who rely on Facebook they will still receive all the same metrics and insights they previously accessed.
