The video of Accountability Judge Mohammad Arshad Malik released by PML-N was sent to Punjab Forensic Lab for the audit. According to FIA sources, the lab results will reveal whether visuals and audio in the video were captured altogether or recorded separately. The forensic laboratory will carry out a close inspection of the editing possibilities. Sources said that the scrutiny of leaked video will be completed in a day or two.
Earlier, authorities had arrested the suspected mastermind of an indecent videotape of a judge accused of convicting the jailed former premier Nawaz Sharif in a corruption case “under pressure”.
The controversial Mian Tariq, who sold out the alleged video of judge Arshad Malik, had been indulged in criminal activities in the past as the land cruiser gifted to him was recovered from Nishter Hospital parking. According to the record, at least 10 cases have been registered against him between 2015 to 2018. The cases were registered in police stations Chehlaik, BZ. Purani Lotwali and New Multan. He had set on fire his own shop to get a huge amount of insurance.
The record revealed that the shopkeepers around his show were expressed resentment over his criminal activities and they had been filed request against him to police officials. Judge Arshad Malik who, was removed from his office last week following criticism from legal and political circles, could be seen in a purported video confessing that “there was no evidence” of corruption against the three-time prime minister.
PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz on July 6 came out with explosive claims regarding the trial that led to her father, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, being convicted and sentenced to prison, saying the entire judicial process was severely compromised. The video clip was played at the joint press conference led by senior PML-N leadership revealed a meeting between a party worker [Nasir Butt] and the accountability judge.
